Renewed planning consent for a major ice rink has been granted as part of a major redevelopment of the old Silver Blades and Planet Ice venue in Birmingham, UK.

The consent was secured by Birmingham-based CSJ Brooke Smith for Lichfield firm Ragon.

The ice rink will be built at the existing Silver Blades complex in Pershore Street, which will be revamped.

The consent comes after years of delays, paving the way for a permanent 12-storey skating facility along with more than 200 apartments, according to Birmingham Mail.net.
