Finland Considers New Guggenheim Museum

Officials in Helsinki have commissioned the Solomon R Guggenheim Foundation to explore the possibility of creating a new Guggenheim Museum in Finland. The foundation will produce a concept and development study to examine the museums potential mission and structure, and its relationship

Officials in Helsinki have commissioned the Solomon R Guggenheim Foundation to explore the possibility of creating a new Guggenheim Museum in Finland.

The foundation will produce a concept and development study to examine the museums potential mission and structure, and its relationship with other institutions.

Work on the study is expected to complete by the end of 2011.

Any recommendations the study makes will be subject to approval by the city council of Helsinki and the board of trustees of the Guggenheim Foundation.
