Sphera Company plans to build a 30-storey skyscraper named "La Pérouse" worth $150m in Sakhalin, Russia.

US-based Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill Architecture was awarded the contract to develop the concept design of the building with the preliminary structural drawings and cost estimates to be designed by the Japanese Company Ivakura.

The skyscraper will be designed according to the high seismic rate in Sakhalin region and will feature a "smart house" system.

Construction work is expected to begin in the second half of 2012 and completion is scheduled for 2014, reports vladivostoktimes.com.
