Palomar College in California, US, has unveiled its new $38m multidisciplinary building.

The new building offers office and classroom space, meeting rooms and gathering places.

Featuring sharply angled walls around a curved central structure called ellipse, the building showcases steel and glass planes set against earth-toned walls.

The building also features sustainable elements such as energy-saving natural light and ventilation, recycled and recyclable materials, carpet and paint with little or no toxic compounds, and low-water landscaping.

The building was built with state money, reports North County Times.
