UK Town Centre Plans Submitted

St Modwen Properties and Advantage West Midlands have submitted a detailed planning application to develop the £70m ($112.6m) Longbridge town centre to the Birmingham City Council.

Plans feature a 7,897m² foodstore, 7,433m² of retail space and restaurants, a hotel and 40 apartments, and the newly built Austin Park.

St Modwen has acquired two plots of land comprising 68 acres in the West Midlands and Derbyshire for the project.

Construction is expected to begin in mid 2011, subject to approval.
