Designs for a new C$14m (US$14.1m) performing arts centre complex in Cambridge, Canada, have been unveiled by the city council.
Designed by Diamond and Schmitt Architects, the two-storey facility will be managed by Drayton Entertainment.
Spanning 5,482m², the new building will feature a 500-seat theatre, administration offices, and production and support facilities for Drayton Entertainment.
The total project cost is C$20.9m (US$21.1m), which also includes technical upgrades to several existing Ontario Drayton Entertainment venues.
The Governments of Canada and Ontario and the city of Cambridge have committed $6m each towards the total eligible project costs, with Drayton Entertainment responsible for the rest.
The theatre is expected to be complete in mid 2012.
Cambridge-based Melloul-Blamey Construction is the construction manager for the project.
