Birmingham City University has submitted plans for a new £123m ($198.6m) city centre campus to the city council.
The new designs include converting a factory into a new 18,000m² building, which will house the Institute of Art and Design.
The facility will include TV, radio and photographic studios.
The original scheme was scrapped because of the proposed high-speed rail station at Eastside.
Construction on the new campus is expected to be complete in 2013.
