Construction work will begin in mid 2011 on a new $81m building in Philadelphia, US, which will be the new home of pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline.
The four-storey building is a collaborative effort between the landlord, Liberty / Synterra, Robert AM Stern Architects (RAMSA) and GlaxoSmithKline.
GlaxoSmithKline has signed a 15.5-year lease for the new building.
Located at the Navy Yard Corporate Center, the 19,045m² facility will feature an open plan design, including shared work stations, team tables, meeting areas, social areas and quiet rooms.
The facility will also feature a fitness centre, restaurant, retail services and parking spaces.
The facility will be designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification.
