Olympic Velodrome Completed in London

The Olympic Delivery Authority has unveiled the £94m ($152.4m) London 2012 Velodrome, the first Olympic venue to complete construction.

The Velodrome was designed by Hopkins Architects, Expedition Engineering and BDSP, and was constructed by contractor ISG.

The 6,000-seater stadium will host the Olympic and Paralympic Track Cycling events in 2012.

Construction commenced in March 2009 and has been completed on time and in budget, organisers of the games have said.
