The National Museum of China in Beijing has been reopened to the public after a $379m renovation and expansion.

The expanded museum has an area of 192,309m², making it the largest museum in the world.

The new building features 48 exhibition rooms in four storeys above ground and two storeys below ground.

The exhibition rooms include an Asia room, Africa room, Europe room and America rooms.

The museum reopened after a three-year expansion project.
