Construction of the $4.2bn Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco, US, is slated to begin in a couple of months.
The centre, designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, includes a multimodal transportation hub, a 21,853m² rooftop park and a 304m-tall tower.
The terminal will be a multilevel facility with undulating glass panels supported by a network of steel columns.
The rooftop park has been designed by California-based Peter Walker and Partners Landscape Architecture.
The park will contain paths, playgrounds, cafes, an amphitheatre, gardens and a 304m-long fountain with water jets triggered by the movement of buses below.
The Transbay Transit Center is scheduled for completion in 2017.
