US Developer Opens Mixed-Use Project in New York

US-based developer Related Companies has opened MiMA, a 63-storey mixed-use glass tower in Manhattan, New York.

MiMA features 500 luxury rental apartments, 151 condominiums, retail space, and health, recreation and entertainment amenities.

In addition, MiMA will also be home to the Signature Center, a theatre designed by Frank Gehry, and YOTEL New York, a hotel designed by David Rockwell and SoftRoom. The hotel will mimic the style of an airline-cabin with 1858m² of transformable public space.

Signature Center is slated to open in early 2012, while YOTEL will open in May 2012.

Amenities at MiMA include the M Club, which features a fitness centre with a heated indoor lap pool, a boxing room, a full-size basketball and volleyball courts, landscaped outdoor terraces and private dining pods.
