UAE-based H&H Investment and Development has officially opened O14, its new commercial tower in Dubai, UAE.

O14 is a 22-storey freehold tower designed by New York-based architects Reisur and Umomoto.

The building features a perforated concrete façade at its core that serves as a solar screen allowing light and air into the facility.

The façade and the building’s glass surface are separated by a 1m gap that acts as a chimney space creating a passive cooling system and reducing energy consumption.

The tower also features four levels of underground parking, recreational facilities, a restaurant and retail outlets.

Construction of the tower began in February 2007.
