UK-based food processing firm East End Foods has begun work on a regeneration project at the former HP Factory site in Birmingham, UK.

The £35m plan includes construction of a 9,290m² cash and carry store, a hotel and a conference centre.

Plans also include construction of a 2,787m² urban farm and technology centre.

Phase one is expected to be complete in early 2012, reports the Birmingham Post.
