The University of North Carolina has unveiled plans for a $200m Glenwood mixed-use village at its campus.

Plans for the development include construction of four buildings to provide housing for more than 800 students at a cost of $50m.

The expansion will also involve the construction of retail units, a 20,900m² recreation centre and a university police station.

Work on the project is slated to begin this year.
