Construction of the £74m Riverside Museum in Glasgow, UK, has been completed and the building will be opened on 21 June 2011, the Glasgow City Council has announced.
The museum has been designed by Zaha Hadid and will showcase 3,000 exhibits in 150 displays.
The museum is housed in a tunnel-like shed which is open at opposite ends to the city of Glasgow and the Clyde.
The new Riverside Museum has a total area of 11,000m².
The Glasgow City Council provided £50.9m for the museum, the Heritage Lottery Fund provided £18.1m and the remaining funds came from donations to the Riverside Museum Appeal.
