Oakdale City in California, US, has announced plans for a $30m redevelopment of the derelict Oakdale Mall.
The city is purchasing the mall from its owners for a price of $6.9m to commence the redevelopment project, Tartan Crossing.
Wellington Management will develop the site under an agreement with the city to buy back the development at a later stage.
Tartan Crossing will consist of two retail commercial buildings, a medical office building and a four-storey senior housing complex with 120 units.
Demolition of the old mall is expected to begin in June while the entire development is scheduled for completion in 2016, reports the startribune.com.
