US-based Lowe Enterprises has announced plans for the $70m redevelopment of an office building in Crystal City, Virginia, US.

The 27,870m² building, part of Jefferson Plaza, will be redeveloped into Class A office property.

Fox Architects is the lead designer on the project.

Plans call for the building to be stripped down to its original concrete frame and installation of a new floor-to-ceiling glass façade and reconfiguration of floor plates.

Amenities including a roof-top terrace offering views of Washington, landscaping, a fitness centre and a concierge service will also be added to the building.

Redevelopment is slated to begin in early 2012.
