Cornell University Releases Designs for $60m Expansion

Cornell University, New York, US, has unveiled designs of Gates Hall, a $60m building that will house the computing and information sciences departments of the university. It has been designed by the university's building committee in collaboration with architect Thom Mayne.

It has been designed by the university’s building committee in collaboration with architect Thom Mayne.

The building will be financed with a $25m grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and funds received from philanthropy and fundraising.

Construction is expected to begin in March 2012 with completion expected in mid-2014.
