Liverpool Theatre Unveils Plans for £28m Reconstruction

The Everyman Theatre in Liverpool, UK, has revealed plans for the £28m reconstruction of its existing facilities.

The theatre is being designed by UK-based architect Haworth Tompkins and will include a 400-seater auditorium on two levels and the current thrust stage.

Plans also include a newly designed Everyman Bistro, natural ventilation, a studio for youth and community work, improved toilet facilities, full disabled access and room for new writers.

Construction is to begin within a few months and completion is scheduled for 2013.

Funding for the project comes from the European Regional Development Fund, Arts Council England and the Northwest Development Agency.
