US University Breaks Ground on New Green Facility

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has broken ground on a new green facility for the Golisano Institute of Sustainability in Rochester, US. The new facility's construction and design team is led by LeChase Construction and SWBR Architects in collaboration with FXFowle Architects,

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has broken ground on a new green facility for the Golisano Institute of Sustainability in Rochester, US.

The new facility's construction and design team is led by LeChase Construction and SWBR Architects in collaboration with FXFowle Architects, civil engineering consultant Stantec and M/E Engineering.

The facility will house multiple labs, classrooms and conference rooms dedicated to RIT's graduate programmes in sustainable business practices.

The building is being financed by a $13.1m grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Construction Grant Program and a $10m grant from the state of New York.
