The UK’s state-owned rail operator Network Rail and developer 3R Land & Property have submitted a planning application for regeneration of a brownfield site in Gateshead, UK.

Network Rail plans to construct a two-storey office building, storage facilities, and car and cycle parking spaces.

3R Land & Property proposes to develop a hotel, offices, restaurant and a car park on the remainder of the land.

Work on the development is expected to begin in late 2011 with the project scheduled for completion a year later.
