US-based developer Swire Properties has unveiled plans for Brickell CitiCentre, a $700m mixed-use development in Miami, Florida.

Brickell CitiCentre has been designed by UK-based architectural firm Arquitectonica.

The development will include 430,000m² of retail space, condos, offices, a hotel and restaurants housed in five towers.

The design of the development will feature the Climate Ribbon, an elevated trellis that will provide overhead shading, water collection and solar energy.

The first phase of the development will include 46,400m² of retail and restaurant space, a 290-room four-star hotel, two eight-storey office towers and residential units.

The second phase will include the development of the majority of the office space and a probable second residential tower.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2011 and reach completion within four years.
