Officials of the city of Riverside in Missouri, US, have announced plans for Horizons, a new $300m office and industrial development in the city.

Horizons will be developed by Briarcliff Development, a Missouri-based developer.

The development will include 241,540m² of total building area.

Initial planning includes construction of 102,000m² of office space and 139,000m² of ‘industrial innovation’ space.

The site will also be developed with water features, canals and lakes with adjoining pathways, trees, landscaping and public recreation spaces.

The first phase of the development includes 25 acres of lakes, three miles of tree-lined canals, and land for public use and recreational purposes connected to the Missouri River Trail.

Work on the $12m first phase is expected to begin in mid-2011 and the first building sites are expected to be available in early 2012.
