US-based developer Buck Schimpf has broken ground on Cameron Harbor, a mixed-use development on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee, US.

The development will consist of a hotel, a restaurant and a residential component with townhouses and condominiums, according to chattanoogan.com.

Work will begin with the construction of a SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotel designed by River Street Architecture and developed by 3H Hotel Group.

The hotel will include a piazza with firepots overlooking the river while the restaurant will share the piazza and will be built mainly from glass to maximise river views.

The residential component will include 16 three and four-bedroom townhouses and a multilevel condominium building closer to Riverfront Parkway.

The townhouses, designed by River Street Architecture, will feature a traditional standing seam galvanised metal roof, cedar shake, stone, and board and batten.
