Cardiff University has broken ground for the £30m Hadyn Ellis Building on its Maindy Campus site in Cardiff, Wales, UK.

The 10,000m² facility will be constructed by UK-based contractor BAM Construction.

The building will house lectures theatres, clinics, laboratory spaces and office accommodation.

Design features of the building include an atrium, zinc cladding and a concrete cantilevered staircase.

The ground floor of the building will include an attractive public area for lectures, displays and conferences.

The building, designed by Nightingale Associates, will be built to achieve BREEAM Excellent status.
