Officials of the Billings Public Library in Montana, US, have unveiled revised plans for a new $18m downtown public library.
The proposed design is for a two-storey building with an area of 6000m².
The children’s area on the ground floor will include a story room and space for crafts, computers and a private outdoor garden surrounded by a resin security wall, in addition to a café and a circulation desk.
The first floor will house the Montana and genealogy rooms, a teen area with computers and living room, and staff offices, as well as other facilities.
Officials hope to obtain a LEED Silver certification for the library by following sustainable and efficient construction techniques.
