Japanese design practice Sanaa has unveiled plans for the conversion of the La Samaritaine department store in Paris, France, into a mixed-use complex.
The art deco building will be transformed into offices, apartments, shops and a Cheval Blanc hotel.
The refurbishment of the complex is estimated to cost €450m.
The plan will also see three neighbouring buildings converted.
Work on the project is expected to begin in July 2012, with completion scheduled for mid-2014.
