Liberty Property Trust and Synterra Partners will begin construction of a new $85m office building at Five Crescent Drive in Navy Yard, Philadelphia, US, on 9 June 2011.

The new four-storey building will encompass a total area of 19,000m².

The new building, due to be occupied by GlaxoSmithKline, has been designed by Robert AM Stern Architects.

Liberty Property Trust aims to achieve LEED Platinum certification for the new office building.

The project features an open plan design and will provide a variety of workspaces including shared work stations, team tables, meeting areas, social areas and quiet rooms.

Amenities in the new facility include a fitness centre, restaurant, retail services and free parking for employees and visitors.

Work on the building is expected to be completed in late 2012.
