The Government of Alberta is calling for Requests for Qualification (RFQ) to design and build the new Royal Alberta Museum.
The new museum is slated to be built at an estimated cost of $347m with a projected completion date of 2015.
The design brief calls for a design that reflects the identity of the province, fits in well with the Arts District and offers room for expansion.
The project is aiming to achieve a high environmental standard and is expected to achieve a minimum LEED Silver certification.
RFQs can be submitted until 22 June 2011, following which the five top qualified respondents will be asked to submit Request for Proposals (RFP).
The respondent offering best value for budget will be offered the design build contract in September 2011.
