Computer giant Apple has unveiled plans for a new ‘spaceship’ campus in the city of Cupertino, California, US.
The campus will hold a circular building to house around 12,000 Apple employees.
The facility will consist of 80% landscaping, compared to the 150-acre plot’s current 20% allocation.
The main building and the adjacent parking structure will be limited to a height of four storeys, and the office will provide its own power.
The campus will also include an auditorium for presentations, a gym and separate R&D facilities.
Apple expects to begin construction on the new headquarters in early 2012 with completion scheduled for 2015.
