Automobile company General Motors has announced plans for the construction of a $130m data centre in Warren, Michigan, US.
The centre design process is currently under way, with completion scheduled for 2015.
The new centre will house IT laboratories and serve as a hub for monitoring General Motors digital applications on a global scale.
The building is expected to feature a modular design, leaving room for possible future expansion.
The new facility is expected to qualify for LEED certification from the US Green Building Council.
