The new £42m basketball arena for the London 2012 Olympic Games has been completed and unveiled in the UK capital.

The arena, with a seating capacity for 12,000 spectators, is amongst the largest temporary venues built for any event.

It will be dismantled after the end of the games and despatched for reuse at other sporting venues.

The seats of the venue will be sold to Silverstone and other sporting venues, while the external structure is expected to be shipped to Brazil for the Rio 2016 games.

The arena will be transformed to host the handball competition finals post the completion of the basketball finals.
