UK Firm to Design Chinese Skyscraper

Edinburgh-based architectural firm Sutherland Hussey and Associates has been selected to design the 288m Tongzhou Tower in Beijing, China.

Upon completion, the Tongzhou Tower will be the third-tallest tower in China.

The mixed-use building will feature a residential component in addition to retail, offices, a hotel and a sky garden.

Pansolution, a Chinese architectural firm and Y Design, a Hong Kong-based firm, will also be involved in the design of the tower.

The tower is scheduled for completion in 2013.
