Canadian Firm Begins Construction of New Office Building

PCL, a Canada-based construction firm, has commenced construction of a $24.6m building at the PCL Business Park in Edmonton, Canada.

The new facility will house three floors of office space, a data centre and a 180-person auditorium with retractable, tiered seating.

PCL will incorporate green features including a high-performance building envelope, a heat-recovery system, a highly reflective roof on the third storey and green roofs over the second storey and basement.

The design of the building also aims to maximise daylight and views and features extended garden courtyards.

Construction of the new building is scheduled for completion towards the end of 2012 with occupancy scheduled for January 2013.
