UK Developer Completes First Phase of £100m Regeneration

George Downing, the construction arm of property group Downing, has completed the first phase of a £100m regeneration project in Newcastle, UK. The regeneration involves development of a former Scottish and Newcastle brewery site into offices, teaching spaces and student accommodation.

The regeneration involves development of a former Scottish and Newcastle brewery site into offices, teaching spaces and student accommodation.

The second phase of the project, involving the construction of a 520-bedroom student village and 750m² of retail space, is also nearing completion.

Additional plans include the construction of additional student accommodation facilities and a 285-bedroom hotel.

The entire development has been designed by Ian Simpson Architects.
