UK Aquatics Centre Appoints General Contractor

UK-based Graham Construction has been appointed as the general contractor for construction of an £18.2m aquatics centre in Scotland.

The aquatics centre will be a part of the Aberdeen Sports Village development that is being developed by a partnership between Aberdeen University, sportscotland and Aberdeen City Council.

The centre will include a ten-lane, 50m Olympic standard pool with a dividing boom and a part floating floor and a state-of-the-art diving pool.

Amenities will include seating for 600 spectators, a full timing / video analysis lab, a health suite and a bridge connection to the Aberdeen Sports Village.

Site work is expected to commence in August 2011 with completion expected in 112 weeks.
