US Developers to Break Ground for Mixed-Use Development

A consortium of three developers will break ground on the Storrs Center, a $220m mixed-use development in the town of Mansfield in Connecticut, US, on Wednesday 29 June. The Storrs Center is being developed by the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, master developer Storrs Center Alliance

A consortium of three developers will break ground on the Storrs Center, a $220m mixed-use development in the town of Mansfield in Connecticut, US, on Wednesday 29 June.

The Storrs Center is being developed by the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, master developer Storrs Center Alliance and co-developer Education Realty Trust (EDR).

The first two phases of the development will include construction of commercial and residential buildings.

The development will feature around 6,500m² of retail space on the ground level of the mixed-use buildings.

EDR will develop, own and manage the residential component in the first two phases which will consist of 290 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

The first two phases of the development are expected to be completed in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
