UK-based engineering practice Arup has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Railway Group (CREC) for pursuing global projects.
The agreement is expected to lead to closer collaboration between the two firms in bidding for key international projects.
The collaboration aims to exploit the growing market in the Middle East, Africa, South America and South-East Asia.
Chairman of the Arup Group board Philip Dilley said the company was delighted to be working more closely with CREC.
“This is an excellent agreement that forges a very powerful strategic partnership for future growth across both groups,” he added.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
