The government of the Canadian province of Alberta has invited four construction companies to submit proposals to design and build the new $340m Royal Alberta Museum in downtown Edmonton.

The design companies include EllisDon Construction Services, Graham Design Builders, Ledcor Design Build and PCL Construction Management.

From the seven request for qualifications submissions received, four design-build teams were pre-qualified through a evaluation process and invited to participate in the request for proposals.

Based on meeting the necessary requirements and offering the best value for the budget, the successful submission will be declared this fall.

The new building is scheduled to open in 2015.
