MBM Resources (MBMR) have broken ground on a 24-storey headquarters building called Menara MBMR in Johor Baru, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The building, being built at a cost of RM240m ($78m) will be developed on a 1.2 acre plot adjacent to Mid Valley City through a joint venture project between Inai Benua, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MBMR, Teknikhas and Meridian Residence.
Menara MBMR will comprise 135 office units, each having a gross floor area of between 1,060 ft2 and 3,836 ft2.
A Volvo showroom will be on Menara MBMR’s ground and mezzanine floors while the top six floors will accommodate the company’s corporate headquarters.
Currently, Menara MBMR is the only freehold, Green Building Index-certified office building close to Mid Valley City.
The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2014.
