The developer of Dulles World Center (DWC), a mixed-use commercial project to be built near Dulles International Airport in Virginia, US, has unveiled a development plan for the project.

Dewberry will be the project designer / engineer, and Shirley Contracting will serve as general contractor, working under the Route 28 PPTA for the project.

The project will comprise 4.1 million square feet of office space in 11 buildings, 400,000ft² of retail space, 1,300 residential units and a 350-room hotel.

In addition, the developers are committed to providing a mix of Class A corporate users, retailers, restaurants, and entertainment operators.

The developers will construct a new interchange at the intersection of Innovation Avenue and Route 28 for easy access in and out of the community; and to improve and realign the current Innovation Avenue, serving the Center for Innovative Technology.

The project is expected to be completed in fourth quarter of 2012.
