A new superior courthouse in Cobb County, Georgia, US, has received LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council.

Project organisers for the courthouse documented energy cost savings of almost 27% and installed water use reduction methods that would yield total water savings of more than 47%.

More than 20% of the project’s materials contained recycled content, and 90% of construction debris was diverted from Cobb landfills, according to marrietta.patch.com.
