Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has submitted plans for a £15m redevelopment of The Moor shopping complex in Sheffield, UK.

Plans call for the replacement of the former McDonald’s restaurant at the top of the street opposite Debenhams with a 55,000ft² new glass-fronted store.

The company is planning to start construction after securing permission from Sheffield Council, along with development of a new market and shops further down the street.

Redevelopment plans include provision of modern retail space and a clean public realm in addition to the new market building.

Located opposite Debenhams, the market building contains space for one large retail unit spanning three floors and two medium-sized units.

Once completed, The Moor will provide more than 150,000m² of retail space in Sheffield city centre.
