The South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) has unveiled detailed designs and renderings for the interior and exterior of a new $35m passenger terminal at Union Pier in Charleston, US.
The new designs focus on vehicle and pedestrian circulation, the existing warehouse’s conversion into the new terminal and connecting the terminal to its surroundings.
The building’s design will feature skylights and incorporate sustainable building materials and practices.
The project is expected to begin in the final quarter of 2011, with the new terminal facility scheduled to open in early 2013.
