Carillion Canada has won a £123m contract to construct Vaughan Corporate Centre Station for the Toronto Transit Commission in Canada.

The contract is part of the Toronto to York Spadina Subway extension project. Vaughan Corporate Centre Station will be the anchor station to the 8.6km subway line extension from Downsview Station on the Spadina line in Toronto to the city of Vaughan.

The station will be a two-level, underground station constructed primarily from reinforced concrete.

The station will have high-quality architectural finishes and a domed main entrance, which will have skylights that will allow daylight to reach the underground concourse.

The concourse will have multiple knockout panels to allow future rail connection to the station.

Construction will start this year and is expected to be complete in late 2014.
