Johnson Favaro Secures Manhattan Beach Library Design Contract

Urban design company Johnson Favaro has secured a library design contract from Manhattan Beach City Council in California, US. Construction of the $22.7m building is expected to begin in December 2012. The 21,000ft² library will be twice the size of the existing facility

Urban design company Johnson Favaro has secured a library design contract from Manhattan Beach City Council in California, US.

Construction of the $22.7m building is expected to begin in December 2012.

The 21,000ft² library will be twice the size of the existing facility, and wil include adult reading areas, a teen and children’s section, and a 100-seat community meeting room.

The two-storey complex will be built primarily of glass and steel, with floor-to-ceiling windows to give views of the ocean.
