The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has chosen London architect, Adams & Sutherland from 70 small practices to redesign the main walkway through the Olympic Park. The Greenway is a 3km public walkway running from West Ham to Victoria Park in East London. Adams & Sutherland were chosen over other practices that included Landscape Architects, Erect Architecture, Alison Brookes Architects and PLUS.
“Adams and Sutherland’s ideas around the re-use of demolition materials from other parts of the Olympic Park to create different surface textures along the Greenway helped make a winning submission,” said Jerome Frost, head of design at the ODA.
Adams & Sutherland’s other projects include a master plan for Bow Church in East London. Work is scheduled to begin in 2008.
