P3Eco and A2Dominion have won planning consent from Cherwell District Council for the £80m first phase of their Bicester Eco development in Oxfordshire, UK.

The first phase of the plan includes the construction of 393 new homes and a 4,300ft² renewable energy centre.

The plans for the eco town also provide an outline consent for a 3,800ft² nursery, a similar-sized community centre, three shops totalling 8,300ft², 12,000ft² of offices, a 19,400ft² eco-business centre, a 2,000ft² pub and a primary school on a 3.3-acre plot.

As part of the project, each house will have the highest standards of water efficiency, exceptional levels of insulation in walls, windows and roofs and make use of modern green technology such as photovoltaic panels and district heating systems.
