Rafael Viñoly Architects and Bennetts Associates have broken ground on a new academic building for Oxford University in the UK, which will form the centrepiece of a £1.25bn campus on the site of the former Radcliffe Infirmary .

The new building will include three theatres, which will be used to host events and lectures.

The other features of the design include a green roof and storm water run-off as part of a plan to get a BREEAM excellent rating.

The building will provide space for 500 researchers and support staff and will also be the main academic centre for 900 undergraduates, according to bdonline.co.uk.
